Criminal Court has scheduled President Yameen’s trial for tomorrow at 1:30 pm.

The case was previously scheduled for 5th November 2019. However the Judicial Service Commission suspended Ahmed Hailam the judge who was presiding over the case just 5 hours before the trial. 

After that the court formed a bench to preside over the case which is headed by Justice Ali Rasheed. It is not clear what will happen tomorrow. As per the criminal procedure’s act, the judges can decide for a retrial or continue the case.  

President Yameen is being charged with money laundering. If convicted he might face up to 15 years in prison.
