The investigative report by the Presidential Commission formed to investigated disappearances and deaths clearly states that former Islamic Minister Dr.Shaheem Ali Saeed had no hand in the murder of Dr.Afrasheem Ali. 

It is clearly mentioned on page 51 of the report that Dr.Shaheem or Adhalath Party didn’t have a hand in the murder of Dr.Afrasheem.

However despite this, many have been slandering Dr.Shaheem and accusing him of taking part in planning the murder.  

On the night before he was mercilessly killed, Dr.Afrasheem appeared on a TV show. Before that he was trying to become a member of the Fiqh academy and hence it is likely that he wanted to clear any misunderstandings he had with others scholars of Maldives. In addition the text messages sent between Dr.Afrasheem and Dr.Shaheem shows that Dr.Afrasheem really wanted to appear on the show and that it was Dr.Shaheem who facilitated that.
