Speaker of the parliament President Nasheed has lied about the registration date of Jamiyyath Salaf a religious NGO based in Maldives.

Today speaking at the parliament he claimed that the organisation was registered under his administration and many people including former Presidents requested him not to give permission to register the organisation. 

However Salaf released their registration certificate today which shows that the organisation was registered in 2006. At the time the president was President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom. Nasheed assumed office two years later.

President Nasheed often lies in public. Despite that he has followers who believe everything he says.
