JP’s leader Qasim Ibrahim has stated that framing of religious scholars and obstructing them is unacceptable. 

Speaking at a ceremony held by JP to welcome new members to the party Qasim said that it has become increasingly common to ridicule religious scholars and even frame them for serious crimes. He said that such acts are unacceptable. 

Qasim Ibrahim stated that the constitution does not allow anyone to belittle Islam and that if someone wants to do that the constitution should be amended. Qasim said that he will never agree to secularism and he will always stand firmly on Islamic principles. 

He said that he will always work to save Maldives from secularism and that JP is working for it.
