Justice Abduh Rauf has resigned from the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) today.

He is the judge elected to the JSC from the High Court. High Court announced his resignation but did not reveal why he resigned.

The opposition has been saying that the JSC is influencing the judiciary. However the JSC has denied these claims.

The opposition made these accusations after the JSC suspended the judge presiding over the money laundering case of former President Yameen. Judge Hailam who is also the chief judge of the court was suspended just hours before the hearing set to issue the verdict on the matter.
