The Judicial Service Commission of the Maldives has suspended Justice Baary who is a judge at the Juvenile court of the Maldives.

He was suspended after the Maldives Police Service informed the JSC that they have received information that the judge was a recipient of the money embezzled through Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Company.

Hence, the JSC decided to suspend the judge and investigate him. Previously Baary was the chief judge at the Criminal Court of the Maldives. He was the judge who presided over former President Nasheed’s case and sentenced him to jail.
