MP Colonel (Rtd.) Nazim has stated that it is important to collect DNA and genetic information of all Maldivian citizens. 

He said that, it will ensure that law abiding, and decent citizens are safe. He noted that even though police found DNA traces of the murderers who killed Qasim Hassan on 4th of December they haven’t been able to find out who it is because there is no national database of DNA. 

During former President Yameen’s administration MP Nazim was framed and the pistol found in his room had DNA of former Vice President Adeeb and two other people. However police has not revealed the identities of the two other people.
