Islamic Ministry has begun talks with religious scholars to resolve issues regarding religious extremism. 

Speaking to Public Service Media, Islamic Minister Dr.Ahmed Zahir Ali said that the religious scholars are against extremism. He said that however there are differences in opinion with regard to the way that government is acting against those who promote extremism. 

The minister said that the situation will worsen if religious scholars continue to argue amongst themselves on social media and asked them to refrain from doing that. In addition the minister said that all the scholars should work against promoting extremism. 

He also said that the religious scholars should try to resolve the various issues between them and that the ministry has begun that work. The minister said that soon the issues among the scholars will be resolved.
