Prosecutor General of the Maldives has requested an order to seize the money in former President Yameen’s bank account.

The official twitter handle of the PG’s office tweeted today stating that, they have requested the Criminal Court for an order to seize the money in the former President Yameen’s bank account as he has been convicted of money laundering.

No further details of the matter have been revealed yet. On 27th November the Criminal Court found President Yameen guilty of the money laundering charges and sentenced him to 5 year in prison and slapped a fine of 5 million dollars.
