Education Ministry of the Maldives has decided to bring changes to the annual school holidays. 

A statement issued by the ministry states that, the annual school holiday falls under the peak tourism season of the year, it is difficult for resort workers and employees in related sectors to spend time with their families. Hence, they have decided to change the school holiday period to a different time to allow families to spend more time with their loved ones.

In this regard, the first part of the annual school holidays will begin from 31st May to June 11 in 2020. After that, the second part of the holiday season will begin on 6th December to 7th January.
