IGMH begins conducting new tests to ensure good health of newborns

Indhira Ghandhi Memorial Hospital has begun conducting new tests to ensure health of newborn babies. 

According to the hospital they have begun conducting 7 new tests at the hospital. The purpose of the test is to ensure that the baby has no diseases even before the baby is born. Even before such tests were conducted at the hospital but, previously tests were conducted in exceptional cases and samples had to be sent to India. However, now the tests can be conducted at IGMH. 

Staffs of the hospital are being trained to operate the machineries used to conduct the tests. Speaking at the event held to launch this service, CEO of IGMH Ibrahim Saleem said that this service is another step forward in the health sector of Maldives. He said that the aim of IGMH is to ensure that all new born babies in Maldives undergo this test.

Speaking at the ceremony, STO’s MD, Hussain Amru said that the country can be developed when there is a healthy society. He said that STO will do everything they can to ensure that.
