Quarantine facility developed with Chinese assistance completed

An 800 bed quarantine facility developed with Chinese assistance has been completed. The facility is in the second phase of Hulhumale.

The facility was developed by CSCC and they began the work on 27th of last month. The facility was completed in just 22 days. The facility has an area of 2443 square meters. 

More than 200 staffs of China State Construction Company worked on the project round the clock. A total of 280,000 USD was spent on the project according to the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Zhang Lizhong. 

China has been assisting Maldives since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic. So far various Chinese companies has donated medical consumables and medical equipment to the Maldives. China Beijing Urban Construction Group (BUCG) has also helped in renovating a two story building in Hulhumale which is to be used as a quarantine facilty.
