The President has accepted the letter of resignation delivered to him by the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ms. Aminath Athifa. Ms.

Athifa made the decision to resign in light of poor health rendering her unable to perform the duties required of a cabinet portfolio. The former Minister had shared details of her health condition with the President prior to making her decision. While accepting her resignation, the President also expressed gratitude to Ms. Athifa for her service and wished her well in her future endeavors.
