Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives HE Zhang Lizhong has stated that the relations between Maldives and China will continue to grow and will not be distracted by some irresponsible remarks. 

He said that in a tweet after the high-level meeting between the Chinese Embassy in Maldives and the Foreign Ministry of Maldives. He said that they discussed on expediting economic recovery including fast track arrangements and direct flight resumption between Maldives and China. 

The Ambassador also stated that the government of Maldives assured their commitment to “One China Policy" and commitment to stronger co-ops with china. He also stated that China appreciated Maldives’ positive and friendly policy on China.
