In a prestigious ceremony at Al Qasimia University, Professor Muneeza from the Maldives, along with her accomplished research team – Dr. Sherin Kunhibava, Zakariya Mustapha, and Mariyam binti Khalid from University Malaya – were honored for their exceptional work. Their research project, "Development of a Digital Islamic Social Stock Exchange," clinched the 3rd place in the Al Qasimia University Award for Islamic Economy Research, marking a significant achievement.

Professor Muneeza, currently the Professor and Associate Dean for Students and Internationalization at INCEIF University in Malaysia, boasts a remarkable career in Islamic finance, earning recognition from esteemed institutions in the field.

Prof Muneeza's journey includes historic roles as the first female Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and later Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury in the Maldives. She has contributed significantly to the National Hajj Pilgrimage Fund, Maldives Hajj Corporation Limited, and the Maldives Center for Islamic Finance Limited.

Her expertise extends to the Securities Commission Malaysia, where she serves as a registered Shariah Adviser, enabling her to structure Islamic capital market products. Prof Muneeza has chaired the apex Shariah Advisory Council of the Capital Market Development Authority of Maldives for over a decade, holding leadership positions in various capacities.
