Sheikh Adam Shameem has stated that leading the youth to hedonism by making them believe that pleasure is the primary or more important intrinsic good is an irreligious western thinking.

Sheikh Adam Shameem made this remark lecturing at first lecture of the “The Message” lecture series organized by Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

Speaking at the religious lecture held under the title “Our responsibility for the nation”, Sheikh Adam Shameem said that it is a treason against the nation and Islam to bring foreign musicians to Maldives and hold music shows in the guise of pleasing the youth without considering the ruling of it according to the Islamic Sharia.

In addition to this, the Sheikh noted that these things are from the characteristics of anti-Islamic irreligious governments. He said that the government which challenges the Islamic scholars and embrace western irreligious way of life is plunging the nation into destruction.

Sheikh Shameem said that every individual has a responsibility and no one is free from responsibility. Therefore, he said that no one can put the blame on others for the corruption that is widespread in the society without taking his or her own responsibilities.

He said that it is not correct to always put the blame on the religious scholars while the religious scholars proclaim the truth and clarify the religion to the people.
