Secretory General of JP Ahmed Sameer have said that Qasim’s case was handed to a different investigation team and he was detained so that he can be framed no matter what.

Sameer said that the jail cell Qasim is kept in is a very simple cell and he could not even sleep in the first night because of mosquitoes. He said that as a result Qasim had to consult the doctors next day.

In the past, prisoners were forced to sleep on benched ridden with bed bugs. Since such benches are not used now, prisoners are being ‘tortured’ using mosquitoes. Dhoonidhoo is not a large island with forests where mosquitoes cannot be controlled. Still, prisoners cannot sleep due to mosquito bites.

Everyone should remember hell. The oppressors who will be sent to hell will not face mosquitoes but they will face large beasts and scorpions according to the Quran.

People who oversee Dhoonidhoo will also die one day. If they have oppressed someone they will be punished in the hereafter. The badges they have on their uniforms today will not benefit them that day. Those things will change into fire as well.

All forms of high positions are a great responsibility. If those who occupy fail to do their duties, then they will have to be responsible for their actions one day.

Even if prisoners are kept in cells, they should be allowed to sleep. It is possible to get rid of mosquitoes in this day and age. If they cannot provide mosquito controllers, then they can allow the prisoners to get it for themselves. If they think that they will not have to answer for these actions in the hereafter, then they are very wrong.
