Services provided by the Indian helicopter in Maldives during times of emergency shows the close relations between the two countries.
The helicopters services are usually provided to airlift sick people within the atolls to hospitals in Male’ or regional hospitals. It is also used to monitor the territorial waters of Maldives and to conduct rescue operations. MNDF conducts these operations with the help of Indian Army.

- 450 flights hours during the day and 98 hours at night in various operations
- 250 flights made in various operations
- 47 flights made to save Maldivians in life threatening situations.
