Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer have said that the Emboodhoo Lagoon project will revolutionize the tourism industry of Maldives. Emboodhoo Lagoon is being developed by Singha Estate of Thailand and billions of dollars are being invested in the project.

The minister said that, many different industries will work together in this project and hence, this project will bring numerous developments to various sectors. He said that famous global brands will come to Maldives through this project.

Furthermore, he said that Maldives got a B+ in the second credit rating of Maldives and this also increased investor confidence in Maldives. “ Even now investors are interested in investing in Maldives. Interest rates for loans to invest in Maldives has decreased. This is because of the policies of the government to ensure ease of business in the Maldives” said the minister.

He said that, more than 300 million dollars will be invested for the second phase of the project and the first phase of the project will be completed by October of this year.
