Protests against independent institutions are increased in the country. The people are calling the institutions to stop oppressing the people and to act in the limits set by the law.

A lot of people from A.Dh.Maamigili and B.Thulhaadhoo protested against the institutions. The protestors were calling the institutions to do their jobs justly and to obey the constitution of the Maldives instead of obeying specific politicians.

They also asked the institutions to immediately stop harming Qasim Ibrahim. The protestors also said that the actions of the government against Villa Group will harm the people more than they hurt Qasim Ibrahim. They said that there are more than 50,000 people who are directly dependent on Villa and hence harming the company will harm these people.

People from other islands also took part in the protests held in Maamigili.
