MP for Dhiggaru constituency, MP Faaris Maumoon has been arrested. He was arrested after police conducted a search operation in his residence M.Snowrose.

Faaris is being suspected of bribery and planning to overthrow the government. Meanwhile, Maldives Police Service also conducted a search operation in M.Endherimaage the residence of former president, Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom.

Faaris was arrested just two days after he was released from jail. He was detained for more than 6 months.
