O’level pass percentage at 77 percent !

Education Ministry have stated that pass percentage of students who took part in 2017 O Level examination was 77 percentage and that it was an increase of 7 percent compared to previous year.
Speaking at the press conference held by Education Ministry today, Education Minister Dr.Aishath Shiham said that more than 5000 students took part in the O’ levels this year and that this was a very good achievement.
The minister said that students who passed in three subjects was 93 percent and that it was a huge achievement as well. In addition she said that the number of students who got U passes has been reduced by 7 percent. “The achievements of the 4 years of this administration is higher than the past 10 years” said the minister.
She said that this achievement is because of the work done to improve the quality of teachers and because of the priority given to provide adequate resources to the schools. She said that points were a bit less for Islam and the pass rate of Dhivehi was at the same level. She said that there are challenges in achieving for these subjects but once the 3000 teachers they are training are trained, it will be solved.
