World Health Organization has donated equipment needed for Health Emergency Operation Center.

Speaking at a ceremony held today at the Health Ministry, Health Minister Nazim Ibrahim said that acquiring equipment for such a center will never end. Nazim said that Maldives always strives to provide emergency health care and history shows that Maldivians used the available resources of the time to provide such services.

Nazim said that the law mandates the health ministry to operate an emergency operations center and hence the government is working on it. The minister said that if there is an emergency in any area of Maldives, the center will be used to provide assistance.

The equipment donated today includes satellite communication equipment.
