The WHO representative in Maldives Dr.Arvind Mathu said that the biggest priority of WHO is to provide emergency health care and that WHO is conducting various programs for that.

In addition he said that the WHO office in Maldives and the regional WHO office is connected and hence they get information about more than 300 programs that are being conducted by WHO. He said that, even though there is no emergency center in Maldives the programs conducted by Health Ministry in times of emergencies are commendable.

Dr.Arvind said that WHO will provide assistance to run an emergency health operation center.
