Lawyer Hisaan Hussein have said that the matters in which Supreme Court decided to review are issues that were problematic even from the beginning.

Hisaan said that even when the cases were in trial in the Supreme Court, lawyers were saying that the cases were in conflict with laws of the Maldives and international conventions.

She said that the Supreme Court issued a new verdict to review the cases because they also realized that the cases need to be reviewed.

Meanwhile many people note that Qasim Ibrahim was sentenced to jail after changing the judge presiding over the case.
