The opening session of the parliament which was scheduled for 5th February has been cancelled.
The secretariat of the parliament revealed that the session cannot be held for security reasons and that they are trying to hold the session as soon as possible.
The session has been cancelled during a time the opposition controls the parliament floor after Supreme Court reinstated the seat of the 12 parliament members who lost their seats before. Even the secretariat of the parliament announced that the 12 MPs can now enter the parliament.
According to the constitution of Maldives the President should deliver a statement in the opening session of the parliament. The session was planned to be held at Dharubaaruge.
