Former President Maumoon and his son in law Nadheem has been arrested by Maldives Police Service and has been taken away in a police vehicle.

Maumoon’s lawyer Maumoon Hameed stated that police searched M.Endhirimaage and now they have taken Maumoon and Nadheem to Dhoonidhoo.

Special Operations officers of Maldives Police Service entered Endherimaage without a court order. Maumoon was arrested for attempting to over throw the government and for bribing parliament members.

However in a video message he published minutes before getting arrested, he said that he has not committed any crimes.
