Maldives Police Service has arrested Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed.

Maldives Police Service tweeted last night saying that they have arrested the Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed.

In addition Police arrested the head of department of Judicial Administration Hassan Saeed.

Previously Police stated that Hassan Saeed was involved in a corrupt deal of purchasing real estate from Male’. MNDF and Police entered the Supreme Court as soon as the President announced the State of Emergency and then arrested the Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed and Ali Hameed after 7 hours.

Both of them have been taken to Dhoonidhoo, where the police detention center is located.
