President Yameen have said that Maldives Police Service has made huge breakthroughs in the investigations they started after announcing the state of emergency. He said that police will reveal details of the investigation in a press conference.

President Yameen said that two judges of the Supreme Court, Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed and Justice Ali Hameed were suspected of many wrong doings. He said that they obstructed a criminal investigation and tried to remove the CP and the AG from their positions.

He said that it is questionable that the Supreme Court tried to over turn various decisions taken by the president. In addition the President said that even though he tried to negotiate with the judges they refused to do so. He said that for these reasons he had to take action.
