Many are describing the manhandling of Chief Justice Abdullah Saeed by the security forces as the most shameful act in the recent history of Maldives.
The first President of Maldives, Mohammed Ameen was also handled by the public, he was not attacked by the security forces.
After that on 7th February 2012, the police and MNDF provided full protection to Nasheed. Hence for these reasons, many describe the security service arresting the Chief Justice as a crime. Many note that there are legal ways they can investigate the Chief Justice.
Some politicians say that the biggest worry is that this will create a dangerous precedent and that such acts might be committed against the President and the Speaker of the parliament.
