JP Leader Qasim Ibrahim have said that he does not support a foreign military intervention in the Maldives and that he does not support anything that might undermine the sovereignty of Maldives.

He tweeted saying that he and his party will not take party in any activities that can undermine the sovereignty of the nation. He said that some people tweeted asking for a military intervention without discussing with him and that it does not reflect his or JP’s views.

MP Ali Hussein of JP said that they want India to send an envoy and not military. He said that there are some confusions in translating what Nasheed said.

President Yameen said that he will not allow any foreign country to invade Maldives.
