President Yameen said that Saudi Arabia, China and Russia helped to prevent Maldives from being put on the official agenda of UN Security Council. He described these countries as the best friends of Maldives.

Speaking at a rally held by PPM earlier tonight, he said that the world paid more attention to Maldives than they paid attention to the genocides in Myanmar and the killings in Palestine. President said that, it happened because the government did not implement the Supreme Court verdict. “Countries do not accept when apex court verdicts are not implemented. Because in other countries that have just judges. So they do not believe that judges might be corrupt” said the President.

President said the court also tried to issue a verdict saying that he is mentally unfit. President said that the police and MNDF were not ready to accept such an order.

In addition he said that this was an attempted coup and the instigators of the coup will never be forgiven.
