MP Nihan have said that, parliament members who win a seat try to remain in the seat forever no matter how. Previously Nihan said that the constitution should be amended to keep President Yameen in power for more than two terms.
Nihan made this statement while speaking to Avas announcing his decision not to run for the Villimale’ constituency in 2019. He said that he decided not to contest for a third term even before and that he told his campaign team in 2014 about that. He said that he made the decision to give chance for young people.
While Nihan criticized people who try to remain in power it should be noted that President Yameen went to court after losing the elections and tried to overturn the election results by manufacturing a non-existent problem.
