Deputy speaker of the parliament Moosa Manik has decided to contest for L.Gan constituency in the upcoming parliamentary elections as an independent candidate. Moosa said that he decided to contest for that constituency because he was first elected to the parliament from that constituency and most of his work was done for that constituency. Moosa Manik got elected to the parliament for the first time in 2004 as an MP for L.Hahdhunmathi constituency. In addition he said that since the constituency is being represented by an opposition member, in the past it was neglected. He said that he aims to win the seat as an independent candidate and then cooperate with the government to develop the constituency.
