Indian High Commission in the Maldives has begun celebrating the 70th Republic Day of India.
A special ceremony was held at the Indian High Commission this morning to mark the day. The Indian Ambassador to the Maldives Akhilesh Mishra hoisted the Indian flag during the ceremony.
Indians living in the Maldives took part in the event. The ambassador delivered a speech of Indian President at the ceremony.
In addition, a special function will be held at Dharubaaruge tonight to mark the day. Indians in the Maldives celebrate the Indian Republic Day every year.
