MP Mohammed Nazim of Dhangethi consitutency has proposed to increase the pension for people with disabilities.
At the moment the state pays an allowance of MVR 2500 for people with disabilities. Nazim proposed to amend the legislation to increase the allowance up to an amount between MVR 5000 and MVR 7000.
In addition, the amendment states that permanently bed ridden people should get an allowance of MVR 9000.
