Lawyers who are protesting for judicial reforms have said that they will continue the reform activities even though all of their licenses get annulled. 56 lawyers signed a petition and submitted it to the Supreme Court, requesting to bring judicial reforms.
They said that the things noted in the petition should be reformed and that they see cases of politicians are not impartial. Lawyer Haneefa said that usually they noted that other state institutions are responsible for some of the problems. “There are judges who issue really good verdicts” said Haneefa.
“Recently someone was taken to a remand hearing and he was charged with bringing the state to a standstill. However, he was an activist with a megaphone near the market area” aid Haneefa.
Haneefa said that the judge did not remand him but he was detained for one day by the police and these things are of concern.
The lawyers said that such things should be stopped and some people will be harmed in the process but the state of the country will not improve without sacrifices.
