18 students who took part in Dhiraagu’s Apprenticeship program has completed the program successfully.
Dhiraagu held a special ceremony at Hotel Jen. Programs were completed from the fields of marketing, sales, finance, procurement, human resource, information system, engineering and network among others.
Speaking at the ceremony, the CEO of Dhiraagu Ismail Rasheed noted that this is the 10th year since they launched the program. He said that the purpose of the program is to familiarize high school leavers to the work environment. He said that 75% of the graduates of the program are now working at major companies of the Maldives. He said that the remaining 25% works in private businesses or are pursing higher education.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Minister of Communication, Science and Technology Mohammed Maleeh Jamaal. Speaking at the ceremony, the minister said that Dhiraagu plays a vital role in the development of Maldives. He noted that tourism, agriculture and fisheries sector are heavily reliant on the telecommunication industry.
Dhiraagu has selected 29 school leavers for their next apprenticeship program.
