Former President Yameen have said that he was summoned to police today regarding two financial transactions.
Speaking to the press after answering the police, he said that once transaction was the money that deposited to his account during the elections and the other was the MMPRC cheque which deposited money to his account.
He said that he does not understand why only he was questioned because he isn’t the only candidate. Furthermore he said that even though the case is a politically motivated case, he will fully cooperate with the police.
Meanwhile, all his bank accounts in the Maldives has been frozen yesterday. However he said that he did not remember to ask the police why it was frozen. “I forgot to ask why the accounts were frozen. My accounts will not have millions. Over 400 million can be deposited to the campaign account.
How can a campaign be conducted with 20 million. I think I will have around 20 million” said President Yameen.
