Anti-Corruption Commission of the Maldives has taken a statement from Youth Minister Mahloof.
The investigative report made by the ACC on MMPRC embezzlement case names Mahloof among the beneficiaries of money from SOF a company which is believed to have laundered the embezzled funds.
Mahloof received over 30,000 dollars through SOF. After the ACC’s report was published, the President suspended Mahloof from his position temporarily.
He tweeted today saying that he went to the ACC to give a statement and he hopes that the matter will be investigated as soon as possible.
Mahloof claims that he is innocent and that the transaction he made with SOF is a legal foreign exchange transaction.
