Anti-Corruption Commission of the Maldives have stated that the banks and other state institutions refuse to cooperate with the ACC’s investigation on MMPRC embezzlement case.
Members of ACC were summoned to a parliamentary hearing, and in the hearing the VP of ACC Muawwiz Rasheed stated that it was state institutions which refused to comply with ACC even more than individuals.
He said that even Maldives Police Service had some information regarding the case, and it was difficult to obtain that information as well.
Meanwhile some accuse the members of ACC for not investigating various corruption scandals properly.
Maldives Police Service is also investigating the president of ACC for money laundering.
