Parliament declares the Supreme Court order unconstitutional

The parliament of the Maldives has declared the Supreme Court order on revoking Justice Abdullah Didi’s suspension as unconstitutional. 

The parliament made this decision after debating about the report submitted to the parliament by the Judicial Committee after they summoned the members of JSC to the committee. 

MP Hassan Latheef of MDP proposed to pass a resolution to declare that the Supreme Court order to revoke the suspension of Abdullah Didi as unconstitutional. 

The report was passed by the Majlis with votes from 64 MPs. All MDP members voted to pass the resolution.
