Dhiraagu has introduced Gigabit speed internet for the first time in the Maldives. This is the fastest type of internet.
The new speed was introduced at a ceremony held at Dhiraagu headquarters and Technology Minister Mohammed Maleeh Jamaal launched the service.
Speaking at the ceremony the CEO of Dhiraagu Ismail Rasheed said that this new service will have a speed which is 10 times faster than the 100 mbps package of Dhiraagu.
“This service was introduced in other countries very recently as well. By the end of 2018, only 50 countries had this service. It is a great happiness for us that Dhiraagu becomes the company to introduce this service in the Maldives.” Said Ismail Rasheed.
Speaking at the ceremony Minister of Communications, Technology and Science Maleeh Jamaal said that the government will assist private and government companies to go forward.
“We are happy that Giga speed has been introduced in the Maldives. I congratulate all the staffs of Dhiraagu for this achievement” said the minister.
According to Dhiraagu this service will be available in greater Male’ area, Addu City, Fuvahmulah, L.Gan, Funadhoo, Kulhudhuhfushi and B.Eydhafushi.
The service will be available from a special router and it will be available from Dhiraagu.
