Commissioner of Police Mohammed Hameedh has stated that he will not tolerate torture in any form.
He made this statement after a video of police service officers beating up a suspect got leaked on social media.
The CP met with the officers who took part in the operation.
He stated that the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives and National Integrity Commission are investigating the matter and that Maldives Police Service will comply with the investigation.
He also said that Maldives Police Service has started their own investigation as well.
