Planning Minister Mohammed Aslam has asked why former Housing Minister Dr.Muizzu decided to develop chemical warehouse in Male’ industrial zone even though there is a fueling station near that area.
Speaking at a press conference held at the President’s Office, Aslam asked why the government did not plan to relocate the warehouses to Hulhumale’ as Hulhumale’ has more land. “Even though there is no bridge to Thilafushi and Gulhifalhu, there is a bridge to Hulhumale’. Why didn’t they change the warehouses to Hulhumale?” asked the minister.
In addition he said that this is not the time to make political statements and it is time to work to find a solution.
In April 2018, the former administration contracted MPL to develop warehouses in the industrial zone of Male’. However the work did not start then. The current administration has promised to develop warehouses in Thilafushi within three months.
