Condor to Resume Summer Flights to Maldives, Strengthening Germany Link

Condor Airlines will resume regular flights to the Maldives for the Summer 2026 season, enhancing connectivity between the island nation and Germany after a gap of several years.

Under its summer schedule, the airline will operate multiple weekly flights from Frankfurt to Velana International Airport, with services running on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The seasonal operations are set to take place from 1 May to 31 October 2026, in line with the European summer travel period.

The return of Condor reflects ongoing collaboration with German travel trade partners, including tour operators who continue to play a key role in sustaining demand from one of the Maldives’ most important source markets. Germany has consistently contributed strong tourist arrivals, supported by high repeat visitation and a well-established travel network.

The additional flights are expected to boost visitor numbers during the summer months, a period that is gaining popularity due to competitive pricing, attractive holiday packages and a growing range of accommodation options across resorts and guesthouses.

Direct connections from Frankfurt will also improve accessibility from across Europe through feeder routes, offering travellers more convenient and reliable travel options.

Industry stakeholders note that Condor’s return signals strong confidence in the Maldives as a leading long-haul leisure destination. The move comes at a time when parts of the Middle East transit corridor are experiencing disruptions, making direct European routes increasingly important for maintaining steady tourism flows.

With the resumption of these services, the Maldives is well-positioned to strengthen its presence in the German market while providing travellers with greater flexibility and access during the 2026 summer season.
