TTM Maldives 2026 opens with stronger global tourism focus

The 10th edition of Travel Trade Maldives (TTM) 2026 has officially opened in Malé, bringing together leading figures from the Maldivian tourism industry and travel professionals from around the world as the Maldives seeks to strengthen international partnerships and expand its presence across key and emerging markets.

Held on August 26 and 27, the milestone 10th-anniversary edition is taking place at Barceló Nasandhura Malé, where the TTM Connect Meetings are providing a platform for tourism businesses and international travel trade representatives to hold pre-scheduled meetings, explore new business opportunities and discuss developments shaping the Maldivian tourism sector. The event will conclude with the TTM Awards & Gala 2026 at CROSSROADS Maldives on August 27, where achievements and excellence across the country's tourism industry will be recognised.

Now established as the Maldives' leading and largest travel trade show, TTM has grown over the past decade into an important annual meeting point between the country's tourism businesses and the global travel industry. This year's event brings together more than 500 travel trade professionals for over 3,000 pre-scheduled meetings, with more than 130 resorts and hotels exhibiting alongside around 250 travel agents, tour operators and local destination management companies representing markets around the world.

The participating companies include representatives from the Maldives' top 30 tourism source markets, creating opportunities for local resorts, hotels and tourism service providers to strengthen existing relationships, establish new partnerships and increase business from international markets.

A major participant in this year's event is Visit Maldives Corporation (VMC), which is serving as the Destination Partner and Gold Sponsor. VMC is taking part as an exhibitor through a dedicated exhibition lounge, where its representatives are engaging with tour operators, travel agents, destination management companies, airlines, travel media and other tourism industry stakeholders.

VMC's participation forms part of its broader strategy to position the Maldives as a leading global holiday destination through continued destination marketing, strategic partnerships and closer engagement with the international travel trade. The corporation is using TTM 2026 to strengthen existing industry relationships, identify new commercial opportunities and expand the Maldives' visibility in both established and emerging tourism markets.

Visit Maldives branding is also prominently featured throughout the TTM venue, on the TTM Connect digital platform, the official event photo backdrop and associated digital and social media channels.

The two-day TTM Connect Meetings are being held from 10am to 5pm, supported by the TTM Connect portal, which provides participants with access to a Travel Trade Directory, TTM Data, information on TTM Maldives, the TTM Awards, TTM Standards and the TTM Destination Specialist programme.

Participants can also use the TTM App to manage their meeting schedules and access event passes, travel trade news, Editor's Pick, TTM People, the Travel Trade Directory and other important event information directly from their mobile devices. The app is available through both the App Store and Google Play.

The 10th anniversary edition is being supported by a range of major partners, with Visit Maldives Corporation as the Destination Partner, Bank of Maldives as the Banking Partner, Ooredoo Maldives as the Digital Partner, Mastercard as the Card Partner and Maldivian as the Airline Partner. Event Maldives, Print Lab Creative, HRS Hospitality & Retail Systems and Souvenir Marine are also supporting the event as Gold Partners.

With a decade of experience connecting Maldivian tourism businesses with the international travel trade, TTM 2026 is expected to play an important role in generating new commercial links, reinforcing existing partnerships and supporting the continued growth and competitiveness of the Maldives tourism industry.

The event's 10th-anniversary milestone also highlights the growing importance of direct engagement between Maldivian tourism stakeholders and international markets at a time when the destination continues to seek stronger connectivity, wider market reach and sustainable long-term growth in tourism.
