Qatar Airways is set to significantly increase its flight services to the Maldives as part of its expanded 2026–2027 winter schedule, strengthening air connectivity between Doha and Malé.
Starting October 25, the airline will raise its weekly flights to the Maldives from 12 to 21, providing up to three daily services between Doha and Malé.
Qatar Airways said the increase forms part of its broader plan to strengthen global connectivity during the upcoming winter season, with the airline scheduled to operate services to 170 destinations worldwide.
The additional flights are expected to provide greater travel flexibility for tourists and business travellers while supporting the Maldives’ tourism sector. Qatar Airways is among the key international carriers serving the Maldivian market, with its Doha connection providing access to major markets across the Middle East, Europe and the United States.
The government expects the increased services to contribute to higher tourist arrivals, particularly from these regions, during the upcoming peak tourism period.
Speaking at a press conference at the President’s Office on September 10, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation Mohamed Ameen said cooperation between the government and tourism industry has delivered positive results and is expected to generate further improvements during the final quarter of the year.
He also said seven additional airlines are scheduled to commence or expand services to the Maldives during the upcoming season, further increasing international air connectivity to the country.
