Three MP’s whose seats were declared vacant by the Elections Commission has filed a case at the Supreme Court asking to invalidate the EC’s decision.
The three members are MP Sinaan, MP Abdullah Ahmed and MP Ilham Ahmed. The three members also requested to stop the bi-elections the EC is planning to conduct in their constituencies.
Sinaan filed the case sometime yesterday while Abdullah and Ilham filed it in the last week. Some other members who were unseated by the EC also filed cases at the Supreme Court.
However Supreme Court ruled that there is no room for the court to make any other decision and dismissed the case.
So far EC has unseated 12 MPs. However by-elections for these constituencies have not been held yet.
