Ooredoo Fintech has announced that more than 5,000
customers are now using PayPal linked with their mFaisaa accounts, marking an important milestone in expanding access to global digital payment services in the Maldives.
Launched in June 2026, the integration enables customers in the Maldives to link their PayPal accounts with mFaisaa and conveniently receive funds from PayPal directly into their mFaisaa USD Pocket. Customers can also transfer withdrawn funds back to their linked PayPal accounts, providing greater flexibility in managing international digital payments.
Reaching more than 5,000 users within the first few months reflects the growing demand for convenient and accessible international payment solutions, particularly among freelancers, entrepreneurs, content creators and individuals receiving payments from overseas.
Through the service, customers can receive their PayPal funds into their mFaisaa USD Pocket and transfer funds from mFaisaa to their bank account or withdraw cash without any additional fee from Ooredoo for PayPal-to-mFaisaa transfers. The integration provides Maldivians with a simpler way to access funds earned or received through one of the world's most widely used digital payment platforms.
The PayPal integration forms part of Ooredoo Maldives' broader commitment to building an inclusive Digital Maldives by expanding access to digital financial services and creating new opportunities for Maldivians to participate in the global digital economy.
Customers can link their eligible PayPal account through mFaisaa and start receiving funds directly into their USD Pocket.
